  • Promotions.com Helps Say ‘Yes’ for Oscar Mayer

January 31st, 2013 by Artie Beavis

Sweepstakes Provider Launches “Yes Quest” Campaign

Promotions.com, a leader in interactive marketing and consumer promotion technologies, and digital marketing agency 360i recently helped launch what transpired into an industry first campaign for client Oscar Mayer. The Oscar Mayer “Yes Quest” was not a contest, sweepstakes or instant win game, the campaign was based primarily on a coupon offer with a unique twist. The inaugural promotion was the first time that any Kraft brand used a limited-time offer as part of a “progressive-style” digital marketing campaign.

For the entire month of May 2012, in order for consumers to earn their free product coupon, they were required to register on the Oscar Mayer Facebook Page, using an exclusive Promotions.com-developed application, then share the unique URL that they were provided during registration with 10 friends. Hence the name of the campaign, Oscar Mayer fans then needed to get all of their 10 friends to click the URL within one (1) hour of their registration to be awarded a coupon for a free package of Oscar Mayer Selects products. Recipients then had their own opportunity to try for a free product by passing it to 10 more friends. In order to deploy the promotion, digital agency 360i served as the campaign hub.

“What began as both a Kraft Foods and Promotions.com first, quickly transpired into a successful campaign with over 78,000 consumers participated in the one- month-long program,” noted Gregg Alwine, a Managing Partner of Marshall Junction Partners. “Never had I seen a promotion like this which used a relatively short time limit to entice fans to immediately share with their social media fans. It’s definitely one way to add suspense and an excitement dynamic to a campaign. It gives ‘social buzz’ a new meaning.”

  • Corsis Launches The Corsis Confidence Standard™

January 2nd, 2013 by Artie Beavis

Corsis, a leading IT infrastructure management firm dedicated to helping companies mitigate data center risk and reduce costs in the cloud, has recently launched the Corsis Confidence Standard™, a proprietary auditing and due diligence model which has been developed over the company’s 20 year history of “in-the-trenches” operational expertise. The Corsis Confidence Standard™ was developed to solve the common quandaries faced by mid-sized organizations as they struggle to define “best practices” and how these practices should be incorporated into day-to-day operations. The Corsis Confidence Standard™ checklist is comprised of operational controls that evaluate policies, procedures and system architectures against industry best practices, in the context of business relevance rather than based on an arbitrary set of compliance goals.

“Today’s CIOs are attempting to define the standard of so-called best practices that can be architected, achieved and sustained given budget and staffing limitations. The Corsis Confidence Standard™ will provide guidance for companies striving to meet the stringent standards required within their respective industries,” explained Thomas Shelford, President of Corsis. When applying the standard, Corsis auditors use a proprietary scoring algorithm that accounts for business relevancy, thus generating a report called the “Confidence Index” to provide stakeholders with clear transparency into the associated technology risk.” Shelford added.

David Barnett, Managing Partner of Marshall Junction Partners, expressed, “This is certainly an exciting time for us at Corsis. The deployment of this service will provide a much needed solution for the industry and allow for the firm to further strengthen its footprint within the market.”

  • Corsis, Promotions.com & Sockwa Fall Review

November 25th, 2012 by Gregg Alwine

Over the course of the past year, we here at Marshall Junction Partners have found ourselves amidst a number of new and exciting projects spanning across each of our portfolio properties. This fall is no different. These last few months have paved the way for both managing partners, Gregg Alwine and David Barnett, to continue expanding the companies’ workforces, make significant investments in further developing their line of products and services, as well as provide additional to support each of their ongoing initiatives. Since August, each of the Marshall Junction Partners companies have commenced its latest marketing and public relations push via a number of social media outlets. Now, their customers, clients and partners have the ability to stay abreast of all the latest happenings by following along on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Our IT infrastructure management firm, Corsis LLC, has embarked on several new projects helping companies mitigate data center risk and reduce costs in the cloud. Most notably, Corsis client, HealthGuru, was recently featured in an Amazon Web Services Case Study, which examined the New York City-based online health company’s shift to AWS and the deployment of additional web servers to increase caching space. During this period, the firm had also hired new associate Spencer Mindlin, who since joining the team, has assumed the role of overseeing audit and advisory services. Additionally, in the forthcoming weeks, Corsis will be hosting a number of meet-ups, which will aggregate industry professionals to discuss making the proper decisions with your data in the cloud. You won’t want to miss these events…

Promotions.com, the leading provider for sweepstakes, instant-win games and online contests, has launched several new projects in the month of October for clients ranging from Clorox and HUB TV Network to Kraft Foods and Boston Beer. “Certainly one of the most exciting campaigns that we had the pleasure of helping execute recently was the globally-recognized The Gerber Generation Photo Search 2012. With a fan page nearing five million fans and press galore, it’s a pretty big deal. Whenever you see any of your products, which in this case was our Like2Win application, featured in a campaign of such magnitude, it is truly astonishing,” explained Gregg Alwine. As a brand who strives to stay at the forefront of the industry, the company is in the process of expanding its market-leading lineup of products to support the growth of social media and mobile technology. Testament to its commitment to innovate customer-activation tactics, Promotions.com will also be featured in an upcoming near field communication (NFC) technology white paper, written by Connecticut-based social marketing firm, RTB Social LLC.

Our most recent addition to the MJP portfolio, minimalist shoe company Sockwa, has experienced quite a ride these past months as well. With tremendous growth in terms of visibility, exposure and engagement via social media, the brand has emerged as a contender in the so-called barefoot shoe market. Coming off exhibiting at both the Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City and Magic FN PLATFORM Show in Las Vegas, and followed by a sponsorship of the AVP Tour Championships in Santa Barbara, Sockwa has certainly placed itself on the map and continues to spread its name to the masses. Just fresh off receiving the latest batch of its G2 and G3 product line, sales have significantly picked up with more consumers having now made their way to the minimalist shoe realm. CEO & Founder, David Zasloff, is on a mission to maintain the brand’s momentum and continue to invent, design and distribute the industry’s next “game changer.”

As you can see, with many projects currently in the pipeline, the forthcoming months look quite promising for Marshall Junction Partners and each of its companies. Stay tuned!

  • Auditing for Mid-Size Companies from Corsis

October 23rd, 2012 by Gregg Alwine

Today’s CIOs are struggling to define a standard of “best practices” that are achievable given their budget and staffing constraints, and are seeking to get operational benefits out of the onerous compliance auditing process.

The systems engineering team at Marshall Junction Partners portfolio company, Corsis spends a great deal of time helping companies prepare their IT infrastructure for Information Security audits. Their mid-sized clients range in annual revenue from $20mm-$200mm, and represent a diverse selection of industry verticals, ranging from healthcare SaaS companies to e-commerce startups. Some of these folks are hosting their data assets in the cloud with companies like Amazon Web Services, while some host in traditional data centers with co-location providers like Equinix.

Corsis has developed a proprietary auditing and due diligence model called the Corsis Confidence Standard which helps companies meet the stringent standards required in their industries. Read Corsis’s full article on how they create Achievable Auditing for Mid-size Companies.

Our client Health Guru is a New York City-based Internet company that provides online health information videos with a library exceeding 3,500 videos and more than a billion cumulative streams on its site. Prior to Corsis’ intervention, Health Guru had implemented a short-term answer using a local memcached solutions integrated into its web servers for local caching; however, in order to manage scalability and performance demands for the site and videos streaming, the client decided to deploy additional web servers to increase caching space. Then stepped in Corsis.

“It is truly astonishing to see an MJP entity facilitating and orchestrating initiatives on such a large scale. Not to mention, it is undoubtedly an honor to have Amazon Web Services (AWS) conduct a case study on the infrastructure set up by our guys at Corsis. In recent years, we have enjoyed successful collaborations and projects, and we are pleased that MJP is receiving the recognition we have always aspired,” said Gregg Alwine, Managing Partner of Marshall Junction Partners. He added, “The growing number of projects by Corsis further strengthens the company’s ability to address and acquire new opportunities that span across a number of markets.”
